Option 2: Buy Or Sell A Home Yourself - This is not an option for most people, but some people have the knowledge and legal expertise to purchase or sell a home without a realtor's representation or expertise.
Option 3: Hire A "Traditional Salesperson" - You can use one of the many real estate salespersons that work deal-to-deal and just do the numbers. Their business relies on mass advertising and chasing buyers and sellers to get new business. With this form of business, they can help but they try to do a quick sale or list your home at any price, so they can get back to finding their next deal. This may leave you feeling as if you are just a commission check to them and that you don't have much control.
Option 4: Hire a real estate consultant who works by referral and dedicates 100% of their attention to serving you - even if you just need some real estate advise.
